Finally some time to scan

Hello World, and welcome to Carra's first blog!
One of my treasured possessions is my grandmother, Lena Braveman's, photo album. It's a Victorian era book with a brass latch and tattered binding. In no chronological order, you can find photos from the 19-teens to the 1970's. I've scanned some here to share with my cousins who have been archiving information on Cohen/Cookes family. If you have any more information about these photos, please let me know. If you have a site of interest to our family, please let me know and if I can figure out how, I'll post the link.
This picture of Grandma (third from left) and Aunt Laura (far right) is one of my favorites. I'm guessing it was pretty risque when taken around 1918. Grandma looks a lot like my sister, Janna, in this photo.

Lena and Harry Braveman -- pretty much how I remember them.

They seem so young and carefree! Uncle Morris and Grandma are in the foreground. I just found out from Cousin Harvey Lipman that this was taken at Norumbega Park in Newton. They are paddling on the Charles River.

Dad didn't know what this photo was from. Grandma is on the top right, and I'm pretty sure that's Aunt Laura just below her and to her left.

I so wish this image was more clear! This is my great-grandmother, Rochel Axelrod Cohen with Aunt Laura and Uncle Morris.

The Zayde -- Nachum Wolfe Cohen circa 1940 or 1941.

My Daddy -- long, long before he was my daddy! Milton Braveman.

Thanks so much for sharing these with Claire, who of course sent them on to me.
I'll take a look through my albums and what-not to see if I have something
in which you may be interested.
I lived with Grandma Mary and Grandpa Abe in their flat
(Revere, MA) during the war years and while I don't remember
Nachum all that well, I do remember "breakfasting" with him on those
mornings he'd return from schul. He'd save me a taste of the schnapse
he'd topped his breakfast off with. This, naturally, pleased my mother very much.
I remember Aunt Lena & Uncle Harry and your Dad Milton as clear and as bright as the sun.
and my memories of them always brings a smile to my face.
Jon
Jon, Welcome! I'll be sure to let you know if I post any more photos. It's funny that you mention schnapse. I noticed thre is a shot glass on the table in front of the Zayde.
Love you
Ashley
After Uncle Morris' death in Wisconsin, his Phi Beta Kappa Key was given to my Uncle, Sam Handverger. After Sammy's death in 1991, it was entrusted to me. Like Lena, my grandparents, aunts and uncles kept Uncle Morris' memory alive all the days of their lives.
I am the only child of Dorothy Handverger and Harry Berger. My mom was the youngest child of Ida Cohen and Hyman Handverger. I saw a note from Jon Perlmutter above. My mom and Jon's mom were great pals in their youth. Additionally, Esther and Ruth Fine, and the children of the other Cohen siblings spent many summer days at the Handverger homestead in Medway.
Besides Maurice, I am the only other Bowdoin graduate of the Lipman/Cohen.
Go Polar Bears! Beat Colby!
At this count, relatives of the Lipman/Cohen Family hold eighteen Colby diplomas.
It is lonely for Maurice and I always being on top. We would welcome others in the family to join us.
