Brave little girl

Everything is fine now, but on Saturday, 12/16, Sydra managed to bang her head on some equipment at the park. It was nasty, though she was incredible. My initial reaction was to stop by the house, grab some ice and continue on to the ER. However, by the time we pulled out of the parking lot she had already stopped crying. We decided to bring her in the house. In addition to icing it we called her pediatrician who told us what to watch out for. As the day progressed it became apparent that a trip to the ER was in fact warranted (no concussion – just a lot of blood). So I packed a bunch of toys and a picnic dinner for the ER waiting room. The ER was blessedly uncrowded so we weren't there an inordinate amount of time. She received 2 staples in the back of her head. They’ll be removed on Friday. (Don't worry the photo is just my dark humor. We'll go to her pediatrician.) She was amazing the entire day (I, on the other hand, remain a little queasy -- but grateful it wasn't worse).
