This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Thank you SO much for sharing your family's story. I was on a 'simple' hunt for a fine picture of a B-17. I DID put 34th Bomb Group into the search engine and there was your Father!
My Father was at Mendelsham, England from, roughly, Christmas 1943 to November 1945. He did come back and forth a couple of times on leave and spent VE Day in London and VJ Day in New York City. He was stationed on Long Island to train on the B-29 and was slated to ship out to the Pacific when Truman dropped the bomb. Thank GOD!!
I will miss him ALWAYS - as I'm sure you feel about your Dad. I firmly believe that we, children of the WWII Vets and "Rosies" MUST pass all we know on to our children and, hopefully, our grandchildren. If we don't do it - they'll never know. Our High School's American History book has 2 PAGES on the War. 2.
My son, now 19, was the only one to whom my Father would speak about his wartime experiences. No matter how hard I tried, he just couldn't speak of it- until the year before he died (2005). Then I couldn't shut him up - Thank God!
Thanks so much...
Patricia (Patti) J. Starr

Daughter of John Joseph Starr of Buffalo, d/o/b/ 5/22/24 - d/o/d/ 11/04/05

Through our cousin Steven Gass, I now have possession of Maurice Sydney Coburne's 1921 Bowdoin College diploma.

Besides Maurice, I am the only other Bowdoin graduate of the Lipman/Cohen.

Go Polar Bears! Beat Colby!

At this count, relatives of the Lipman/Cohen Family hold eighteen Colby diplomas.

It is lonely for Maurice and I always being on top. We would welcome others in the family to join us.

My daughter, Amy Moss Trombly, just shared your site with me. Your fantastic pictures have flooded my head with wonderful memories of a close, warm, and generous family. I inherited the Handverger family photos and will share them with Amy who will offer them to your readers.

After Uncle Morris' death in Wisconsin, his Phi Beta Kappa Key was given to my Uncle, Sam Handverger. After Sammy's death in 1991, it was entrusted to me. Like Lena, my grandparents, aunts and uncles kept Uncle Morris' memory alive all the days of their lives.

I am the only child of Dorothy Handverger and Harry Berger. My mom was the youngest child of Ida Cohen and Hyman Handverger. I saw a note from Jon Perlmutter above. My mom and Jon's mom were great pals in their youth. Additionally, Esther and Ruth Fine, and the children of the other Cohen siblings spent many summer days at the Handverger homestead in Medway.

Carra: Diane is truly blessed to have such a great friend!! My heart goes out to all of them.

I have an extra microwave that I would be more than happy to give her, whenever she is ready. I think she will be out of her house for much longer than she realizes. Smoke damage permeates everything, and takes a long time to get rid of. She will most likely have to replace her mattresses, carpets, couches, etc. My friend at work is actually going through the same thing right now. Her house caught on fire last Tues....all are safe thank G-d.

I will also volunteer for some dinners to her parents house, I will let you know for next week...

Thanks so much again for all of this!! Do you also have a work # or cell# where we can speak with Diane directly?

Thanks...Heather

Carra, you are a wonderful neighbor and an incredible techie! What a great support for Diane and her children. I'm just not clear about when I should provide a meal and where I should take it. Unfortunately I can't do this week, sorry, but could do next week, 2/21 or 2/22. Will that be OK? I'll check with my sister tomorrow about the dorm-sized fridge. thanks!
